Swansea Ramblers

Kilvey Hill

A 5-mile Saturday walk

31st May 2025

Leader: Clive Rees

Swansea Ramblers met at White Rock to ascend Kilvey Hill.

The forecast suggested a little rain but we had a bit more than that as we started off!

Twenty-three of us made our way along wet, woodland paths until we reached the top of the hill.

Here we should have had wonderful views but instead found a blanket of mist over the bay.

After having our lunch on top, we began to descend.    The rain and mist decided to lift so we once more walked to the top from where we could now see the views denied to us on the first ascent.

The rain eased off and the sun even came out as we descended back to the start.

After the walk, some of us went to the Ship Inn for refreshments.

Amother enjoyable (if a bit wet) walk with Clive.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?

From here we should have seen Crymlyn Fen!

At the top, the mist was so thick that we couldn't see the view!

And we could see over Swansea

So we went back to the top for the view!
