Swansea Ramblers

Llansamlet, Cwm Crymlyn, Trallwn

A 3.5 mile Thursday Evening Walk

8th May 2025

Leader: Clive Rees

Swansea Ramblers had another evening walk to enjoy the ligher evenings.

The sun had shone all day until it set as a red globe on the horizon.

We started our walk from Llansamlet Railway Station where we joined the Active Travel Path that led us to Cwm Crymlyn.

We descended to the Neath Port Talbot/Swansea county border, marked by the River Crymlyn which flows into Crymlyn Fen.

A lot of Japanese Knotweed had grown since last month's visit and the path became something of a jungle for a while.

We then ascended to the top of Summerhouse Hill where we had 360 degree views over Swansea and Neath in the evening sunshine.

We followed paths which led us to Trallwn and into Primrose Park in Llansamlet.

After the walk, we went to the Bowen's Arms where some of us had a curry.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
