Swansea Ramblers

Machynlleth Weekend

Aberdyfi

6th April 2025

Leader: Clive Scott

Swansea Ramblers had a weekend away, staying in Machynlleth and having two walks on the Saturday then two on the Sunday.

It was again a fine sunny day, if a little cold when we arrived in Aberdyfi for the walk.

We walked along the 'Roman' path on the foreshore then began the ascent which would eventually climb above Foel Lwyd.

We had stunning panoramas over the area with the Llŷn Peninsula to the north and Cardigan Bay to the south.

A short distance across the estuary, we could see the national nature reserve of Ynys Las.

We joined the high level section of the Wales Coast Path and descended back to Aberdyfi where we indulged in locally made Ice-cream and had a coffee in the sunshine.

Another great day out with Swansea Ramblers.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
