Swansea Ramblers

Dinefwr Castle and Llandeilo festival of senses

16th November 2024

Leader: Myra Lewis

Swansea Ramblers had a lovely autumnal walk to Dinefwr Castle via Castle Wood and Dinefwr Park.

Where in Spring we would see the Bluebells was now an autumn paradise of fallen reddish-brown Beech Leaves.

We had lunch below the castle then walked through another section of autumnal woods to descend to the abandoned church.

When we returned to Llandeilo, we walked around the streets where the Llandeilo Festival of Senses was taking place.

There were hundreds of people milling through the streets, enjoying the stalls with food and crafts.

When a heavy shower came down, we sheltered in the White Horse Inn and had to dry off with a pint of real Ale!

Another lovely day out with Swansea Ramblers.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
