Swansea Ramblers Walk

Leamington Weekend Away: Stratford Upon Avon

A 4.5-mile walk alongside the River Avon

20th October 2024

Leader: Clive Scott

Swansea Ramblers travelled to Royal Leamington Spa for a weekend of walking.

The recent flooding had made some paths unusable and others full of mud.

On Sunday we drove to Stratford Upon Avon to walk along the Avon Riverside Path.

We braved the mud and made our way back to Stratford where we stopped at Shakespeare's Church.

The rain then started and came down in a deluge to soak us on the last ten minutes of the walk.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.

Which was too dangerous for some of the group who then went to explore the town

The rest of us trudged through the slippery, sticky mud

We then headed towards the Racecourse

And had to 'Limbo' under the guide fence to cross the course on a Right of Way!

We don't often have to do this.
Luckily there were no Horses today!

The grass was sodden wet in places
