Swansea Ramblers

Rhosili

2-mile and 5-mile Saturday walks

7th September 2024

Leader: Helen Brice

Swansea Ramblers braved the weather forecast and made our way though last night's storm debris to Rhosili. We had a short walk through the Vile field system to Fall Bay then over to the Lookout Hut from where we could view Worm's Head.

When we returned to the National Trust Car Park, we had lunch then set off for Hillend with a few more Ramblers who had joined us for the 5-mile afternoon walk.

The extremely heavy rain last night (a month's rain in a couple of hours) had left the 'Vicarage' path wet and muddy, so we walked out and returned on the beach.

Arriving in Hillend, we had Coffee and Ice-cream at Eddy's, overlooking the bay.

After our stop at the Café, we returned to Rhosili and finished up in the Worm's Head Hotel for refreshments and a social.

The rain held off until we drove home. Another great walk with Swansea Ramblers.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?

We then continued through the 'Vile' field system

But first a descent

Rhosili Bay, voted one of the best beaches in Britain, if not the world!

We headed inland to the caravan park

Then because of yesterdays deluge, we walked back on the beach instead of the muddy 'Vicarage' Path

Above us, our post-walk social in the Worm's Head Hotel was in sight

But still time to look at the stunning views
