Swansea Ramblers

Penarth and Cosmeston

A walk along the coast and into the country park

13th July 2024

Leader: Alison Broady

Swansea Ramblers had a coach trip to Penarth where we walked part of the Wales Coast Path to Sully.

We had a lovely sunny day for the walk and enjoyed the scenery as we followed the coast through nature reserves and historic places.

Marconi chose Lavernock to demonstrate that radio could cross over the ocean to connect the vast areas of Empire.

We saw the plaque to Marconi on the church wall then continued into a nature reserve where we had a tea stop overlooking a bay.

We continued along the coast to Sully and stopped for lunch then headed inland to Cosmeston Country Park.

We visited the recontructed medieval village and walked through the park to the cafe.

After a break we headed down the road a short distance to The Schooner Inn for refreshments.

Another great day out with Swansea Ramblers

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
