Swansea Ramblers

Cwm Du Glen and Glanrhyd Plantation

A 4-mile evening walk

25th June 2024

Leader: Lucy Davies

Swansea Ramblers walking group has evening walks in the summer.

We travelled to Pontardawe and visited the Cwm Du Glen and Glanrhyd Local Nature Reserve.

We walked upstream to a bridge from where we viewed the river then ascended a long flight of steps to the plantation.

Here we walked through the old estate and found the remains of the swimming pool.

We walked north to the old stone bridge over the river then crossed the estate to descend to the Swansea Canal.

We then walked back to Pontardawe and went for our post-walk social to The Miller's Arms in Ynystawe.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.

Looks like a jungle but it is an estate path between the houses!
