Swansea Ramblers visited the National Nature Reserve of Kenfig where we had a lovely summer walk in sunshine.
Rain had threatened but it stayed off until after the walk.
We followed some of the many paths in the reserve which led us to the water's edge.
Heading north, we visited the Norman Castle, most of which is buried in the sand that covered the area in the 14th century.
After the walk we struggled with the pay-on-exit by card machines, two of which were not working and the last took a very long time to process the parking fee.
But then that is progress we suppose!
After finally paying and watching the dark clouds rolling in, we went in the rain to the Prince of Wales Pub for refreshments.
