Swansea Ramblers

Chepstow to Tintern

A 6-mile Saturday Coach Walk

11th May 2024

Leader: Alison Broady

Swansea Ramblers had another of the coach trips to do a linear walk.

We were dropped off at Chepstow and walked part of the Wye Valley Walk.   We had high level views over the river.   We ascended 365 steps to the Eagle's Nest from where we could look down on the river and to the two severn Bridges.   There was still Bluebells and Garlic in flower.

We had lunch at Eagles Nest then some of us descended to the coach while a few others walked the remaining two miles into Tintern.

After a hot and sunny walk, we enjoyed some refreshments at The Anchor Inn by the Abbey.   Another great day out with Swansea Ramblers.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.
