Swansea Ramblers visited the home of The Banwen Hunt where we met the Bloodhounds at the start of the walk.
The forecast was for rain and a shower started before the walk but it soon stopped and we had a dry walk.
We ascended through the forestry where once there was open-cast mining and followed forestry tracks onto the eastern side of the Farteg.
From there we had wonderful views over the area between Ystradgynlais and Seven Sisters.
In the distance we could see the Brecon Beacons.
After the walk we went into Crynant for refreshments at The Gradon Country Pub.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
