Swansea Ramblers explored some of the green areas of Morriston.
The weather started off sunny and it stayed dry during the walk.
However, the recent rain meant we had to avoid the really muddy paths!
We made our way to Morriston Park, triggering childhood memories for some of our walkers.
Some remembered fishing for Sticklebacks, turning blue in the long-gone open-air swimming pool and accepting sweets from American GI's during the war!
A lot had changed in the park since those days - and not for the better.
The park is still a green oasis to escape the urban area that surrounds it.
We had our packed lunch in the park then crossed some urban streets to enter Morriston Cemetery.
Here we saw the grave of Peter Ham, a famous Swansea musician.
Passing Commonwealth War Graves, we left the cemetery and followed a few more streets to reach Llangyfelach.
Noting the Plough and Harrow for after the walk, we reluctantly walked past and continued down an old country lane to the A48.
Bryntywod used to be on the main road to Felindre but the link was severed by the building of the M4.
Today it is a quiet road which we followed to the Felindre Industrial Estate and the end of our walk.
Some of us then returned to the Plough and Harrow for well-earned refreshments.
Another enjoyable walk with Swansea Ramblers.
