Swansea Ramblers Walk

Cwmrhydyceirw to Clydach

A 6-mile Saturday walk

13th January 2024

Leader: Paul Arnold

Swansea Ramblers had another of their popular Saturday walks which last about 3 hours.   Despite the cold conditions, 32 of us met up in Cwmrhydyceirw near Morriston Hospital.

Even though sections of the walk went past housing, we managed to find green areas and Active Travel paths that led us to Clydach.

We had new walkers with us who had wanted to come along for some time.   We met them in the pub after a previous walk a few days before so they came out and had a great time walking with us.   We will look forward to seeing them soon and if you fancy trying a walk, you'll be very welcome to come too.

At Clydach, we started on the return leg by following the Swansea Canal Towpath south towards Ynystawe.   We then followed an old lane into a more modern estate before once more entering Coed Glyncollen.   We returned alongside the school to Cwmrhydyceirw where some of us popped into The Deer's Leap for refreshments.

Another great walk with Swansea Ramblers.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.
