Swansea Ramblers Walk

Parkmill and Three Cliffs Bay

A 5-mile Saturday walk

11th November 2023

Leader: Enid Owen

Swansea Ramblers met in Park Wood above Parkmill.   We held a 2-minute silence for Armistice Day then began our walk.

We ascended the forestry track through Green Cwm to Penmaen then crossed the main road and descended to Three Cliffs Bay.   We had our lunch by the Lifeguard hut then crossed the stepping stones over Pennard Pill.

We continued past Pennard Castle then crossed the Golf Course to descend Sandy Lane.   We were pleasantly surprised to find The Countryside Access Team had done a great job upgrading the woodland path IL22 to reach Shepherds.   It is now a wide, gravel-covered path all the way.

We stopped at The Heritage Centre to buy Bread. At the centre, we were offered a taste of the freshly squeezed Apple Juice which would be left to ferment to Cider.

After the walk some of went over to The Gower Inn for refreshments and they opened the side bar for us to all sit together.

Another great day out with Swansea Ramblers that our new walkers enjoyed.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
