Swansea Ramblers led a walk on behalf of the council and the local Walkers are Welcome initiative.
The council are encouraging people to start walking and to use local hostelries when they go.
We started at The Beaufort Inn at Kittle then made our way north via Bishopston and Barland Common to The Wildflower Cafe.
We bought our lunch there and were grateful to get out of the rain which had been falling for most of the walk.
There had been a lot of rain in recent weeks which had made the route rather muddy, so we avoided the worst of the mud and doubled back along our outward path to return to Kittle.
Once back the sun came out to greet us!
We went into the Beaufort for refreshments and to thank them for the free parking.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
