Swansea Ramblers Walk

Rhosili

A 6-mile Saturday walk

On a perfect summer's day

2nd September 2023

Leader: Helen Brice

Swansea Ramblers travelled to Rhosili for what was a perfect, sunny, summer's day.   We walked out to the Coastwatch Hut where we stopped for a break and to enjoy the view of Worm's Head.   We then turned north through the Vile to return to the car park where we had another tea stop.

The second half of the walk saw us descend onto the beach and visit the remains of the Helvetia, at the moment more exposed than usual.   We continued along the beach to Hillend where we stopped for lunch.

Our return to Rhosili was along the base of Rhosili Down on the path leading to the Vicarage.   This path is always longer than we remember so it took some time to get back to Rhosili - which only made the 'apres-walk' ice-creams taste even better!

A great day out and enjoyed by all.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
