Swansea Ramblers Walk

Penclawdd

A 3-mile evening walk in the rain

1st August 2023

Leader: Pam Lewis

Swansea Ramblers had another of their short evening strolls which are ideal to introduce people to walking.   Of course, the lure of the nearby Fish and Chip shop plus GG's Ice-cream Parlour was another incentive.

Unfortunately, the earlier forecast of a dry evening changed to rain and this time it was accurate!   At the start of the walk, some of the assembled Ramblers looked at the rain then worked out their approximate position to GG's ice-cream.   See below for the decision they made!

The rest of us hardy walkers, (some of whom had already been to GG's), set off for what was a lovely walk with one half of the leading duo, the other half being indisposed (and nothing to do with the weather!).

We had a lovely, short walk above and through Penclawdd then made our way to The Estuary Inn next to GG's (GG's by then had closed!).   Another great evening walk and we'll look forward to the next one listed on the programme page.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
