Swansea Ramblers Walk

On the hills Above Pontarddulais

A 5-mile Evening Walk

30th May 2023

Leader: Jane Fisher

Swansea Ramblers travelled to Pontarddulais for a sunny, evening walk above the town where the Rhododendrons were in flower and the visibility to Swansea and Gower was clear.   We started in the town then made our way up the hillside onto Gopa to have great views up the valley.   On Bryn-bach Common, we stopped in the sunshine for an extended tea break from where we could look across to northern Swansea and along the Gower Peninsula.   Below us, the River Loughor meandered its way towards the estuary.

We continued further along the hillside before descending to the valley floor and returning to Pontarddulais.   We went to Fforest and had refreshments outside The Bird in Hand as the sun went down.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
