Swansea Ramblers Walk

Clydach

A 6-mile walk through woodland and along the canal

27th May 2023

Leader: Lucy Davies

Swansea Ramblers enjoyed another of their regular Saturday 6-mile walks.   These usually take about 3 hours to complete.   We then often visit a local pub for refreshments.

We started from the Bird Reserve Car Park in Craig-cefn-parc then headed through Clydach to the disused railway line above the village.   After a tea stop, we continued along the wood-lined railway line to emerge in Trebanos.   We joined the canal and made our way to the canal visitor centre.   Here we had our packed lunch and some of us had a Joe's Ice-cream from the centre!

We continued west along the canal then headed north by the river to the start point of the walk.

Some of us then enjoyed a cold drink in the sunshine of the New Inn Beer Garden.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.
