Swansea Ramblers Walk

Llandeilo for Bluebells

A Figure of Eight walk

Dinefwr - The afternoon walk

29th April 2023

Leader: Andrew Morgan

Swansea Ramblers travelled to Llandeilo to see the Bluebells.   There are two areas where we could see lots in flower so we split the walk into two, a morning then an afternoon walk.

In the morning we visited Coed Tregib Nature Reserve where we saw lots of Bluebells.   See the other photograph listing for those.   We returned to Llandeilo where some of our members wished to spend the afternoon but for others, we began a second walk and were joined by Ramblers who travelled up just for the afternoon walk.

We followed some lesser used paths in the town to reach Dinefwr Park.   A walk through the parkland brought us to Dinefwr Castle where we had a tea stop.   On the way we saw Bluebells then after tea, we descended into the main area of woodland where the Bluebells are most concentrated.

We returned via the church of Llandyfeisant then ascended to the panorama of Penlan Park.   It was such a lovely sunny day that we could have stayed there for ages.   We descended back to Llandeilo where some of us visited the White Horse for refreshments in the beer garden.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.
