Swansea Ramblers Walk

Oxwich

A 5-mile Saturday Walk

25th March 2023

Leader: Peter Jones

Swansea Ramblers went for a lovely, sunny walk from Oxwich Bay.   We ascended out of Oxwich Village along the road until we reached Oxwich Green.   Stopping for a catch up at the Green, we then continued in the sunshine along the quiet road to the hamlet of Slade.   Here we descended to the coast path and headed east along a wonderful stretch of coast towards Oxwich.

We stopped for tea on the grass beside the coast then started to gradually climb to the point.   We ascended to the top where we stopped for our lunch against a stone wall that acted as a wind break.   Passing the Trig Point, we entered the woods and made the gradual descent back to the village.

Some of us then went to the Oxwich Bay Hotel where we sat in the sunshine, enjoying a drink and the view across the bay.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
