Swansea Ramblers walked above the village of Creunant (Crynant) along forestry tracks that led us to the top of the Farteg Mountain.
Here we had lunch and admired the panoramic views.
We could look down into two valleys with Ystradgynlais to the west and Seven Sisters in the east.
To the north lay Fan Girhirych and the Brecon Beacons.
Following our visit to the Farteg, we descended out of the forest and made our way for refreshments to The Gradon Pub in Creunant.
We usually finish a walk with a bit of a social in a local hostelry and the pub made us welcome by opening up the 'Cwtsh' by the wood burning stove.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
