Swansea Ramblers had another of our social events which this time was combined with a quick AGM.
35 of us went to Bonymaen Rugby Club where we had food prepared by Lynne - some nibbles such as Sausage rolls, crisps, cheese, tomatoes, grapes, ham, biscuits and chocolate (plus coffee!).
Thanks Lynne for all your work in preparation for the AGM, (not just the food!)
The AGM was a formality which only took up about 10 minutes of the social then we were treated to an informative talk about the work Ramblers Cymru is doing on behalf of the Welsh Government.
Two of Ramblers Cymru staff, Oliver Wicks and Zoe Richards gave us an overview of the £2M Welsh Government funded project, ‘Paths to Wellbeing’ to develop community walking in Wales.
The nearest community to Swansea is Ystalyfera which from previous walks, we know offers some wonderful opportunities for walking.
We will be in further contact with Zoe to arrange a group walk to see the work they have done.
Lynne and Catherine then turned into Bingo callers and we had two rounds of fun Bingo with a prize for the lucky winner.
Everybody enjoyed the evening and we'll look forward to the next AGM night in 2023 when we'll have another great get-together.
