Swansea Ramblers Walk

Llangollen Weekend Trip
A 3-mile walk at the Horseshoe Pass

9th October 2022

Leader: Clive Scott

Swansea Ramblers spent a weekend in Llangollen, staying at The Hand Hotel.   On our second day, we again had a choice of a long or short walk.   Some went on the longer walk with Tim and others did this shorter walk above the Horseshoe Pass onto Moel y Faen and Moel y Gamelin.

The weather had turned colder and very windy.   We wrapped up as the hillside was very exposed with no cover to act as a wind break.   We had a tea stop just below the summit of Moel y Gamelin then Clive took some of the group back to the start.   Andrew took eleven of the group the short distance onto the top of Moel y Gamelin for the 360 views then we made our way back to the 'Ponderosa Cafe' for a warm brew!

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.
