Swansea Ramblers Walk

Blackmill

A 5-mile walk for coffee & cakes!

1st October 2022

Leader: Paul Williams

Swansea Ramblers sometimes walk further afield than the Swansea area.   Today we went north of Bridgend to Blackmill.   We ascended the path onto the hillside for lovely views into the valleys then crossed the common to reach Llangeinor.   On the way, the rain came down but didn't dampen our spirits.

At the church, the parishioners had laid on coffee and cakes in aid of the church funds.   We contributed between us £90 to the St Cein's Fund which was a lot of cake but we enjoyed them as always!

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.

Then we had a heavy and prolonged shower

The vicar allowed us to have our food in the church

Which we begrudgingly decided to eat!

After all, who would want to eat cake! - (Swansea Ramblers of course!!)

Llangeinor Church is a very old church

Eventually, with some uneaten cakes in our rucksacks (and more in our tummies), we set off again

No footbeds on this for many years!
We had to bring a step ladder!

We all got across with the help of our friends!
