Swansea Ramblers Walk

Ferryside

A 7-mile Wednesday walk

21st September 2022

Leader: Huw Davies and Gary Evans

Swansea Ramblers travelled to Ferryside in Carmarthenshire for a 7-mile walk.   The weather provided us a lovely sunny day to enjoy the walk.

We made our way south to St. Ishmael's Church then onto the beach.   We visited the barren beach where once a village stood then re-crossed the railway to ascend to Pengay Farm.   At the farm, we saw the old bell which had been long ago rescued from a shipwreck.

Our lunch stop was at the pub in Llansaint and finding it closed, we had to have our lunch outside.   We then set off for Broadlay and descended into Ferryside.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
