Swansea Ramblers Walk

Rhosili
A 5-mile low level walk

3rd September 2022

Leader: Helen Brice

Swansea Ramblers had a walk along the beach at Rhosili.  Despite the weather forecast of showers, it stayed dry until the last 20 minutes and even that was just a light shower.  This was Helen's first time leading a walk and we enjoyed the day!

We stopped at Hillend for our lunch then walked along the low level 'vicarage' path at the base of the cliffs.  The vicarage is now a National Trust holiday cottage but is reputed to be haunted!  We saw no spooks but the local horses trotted along the path, ignoring us, so maybe they thought we were the ghosts!

We ascended the hillside to reach the village of Rhosili which was when the light shower of rain fell.  After the walk we stayed in the dry, socialising and enjoying refreshments at the Worm's Head Hotel.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
