Swansea Ramblers Walk

Clyne Common

A Wednesday walk to The Wildflower Cafe

24th August 2022

Leader: Andrew Morgan

Swansea Ramblers had a mid-week walk from Newton in Mumbles, across Clyne Common to The Wildflower Cafe.   After an enjoyable coffee and cake, we made the return journey via the golf course across Clyne Common.

After the walk, some of us enjoyed a different type of liquid refreshment in The Newton Inn.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!

If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.

If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.

When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.

We crossed the southern section of Clyne Common from Newton

We do not often walk this part of the common

But there are well-used paths here

Although you have to know where!

By 2023, the new Active Travel path was supposed to be alongside this stile but...

We crossed the busy, main road to the stile opposite
(which you probably wouldn't see from the car!)

We must be nearly on the golf course

Which we then crossed on the footpath

And at Blackhills, went to The Wildflower Café

Which was guarded by two 'beefy-looking' bouncers
