Swansea Ramblers Walk

Millennium Coastal Park
An Evening 5-mile walk

11th August 2022

Leader: Jane Fisher

Swansea Ramblers had an evening walk from Pwll to explore the Millennium Coastal Park.  It was a lovely sunny, warm evening and people were out enjoying the park and coast.

We discovered nature had taken over the industrial area, turning it into a beautiful green park with a number of ponds where previously, the power station (now demolished) had tipped the ash from the coal used to generate electricity.  There were people fishing and others just enjoying the area.

We made our way to Burry Port where there were many people out for a late evening dip in the sea which was as still as a mill pond.  We reached Burry Port Harbour as the sun set low, making for a magical evening of colour and balmy warm temperatures.

We returned along the Wales Coast Path to Pwll as the sun set and the colours of the sky and sea turned to incredible colours you only see at this time of the day.  After the walk we went to The Colliers Arms for refreshments and to watch the supermoon rise in the sky.  Another memorable walk with Swansea Ramblers.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
