Swansea Ramblers went to Laugharne for a great walk in and around the area during a heat wave which saw temperatures rise to about 28 degrees. We first walked under the castle then past Dylan Thomas' writing shed and home. Following the coast path, we walked through Delacorse and made our way to the grave of Dylan Thomas where we paid our respects to the poet.
We headed north from Horsepool in order to visit the church at Llandawke. Continuing to Uplands, we had views for miles around. We had to divert around an electric fence which was an illegal obstruction across the footpath.
Squeezing through the very narrow posts in the fence line, we made our way south to the village of Llansadwrnen.
We had lunch in the shade of the church then descended to the coast path and ascended to Dylan's Birthday Walk. After the walk, we all went back to The Fountain Inn for refreshments.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
