Swansea Ramblers Walk
10th November 2013
Leader: Gail Allen
This Swansea Walk took place outside of Swansea on the other side of the Loughor Estuary. Gail took us to Llangennech to visit Troserch Woods and see great views to Whiteford Point and the surrounding area.
;Being Remembrance Sunday, we held a Two Minutes Silence before continuing on our way. A tranquil estuary view provided a tea stop before we made our way back to the start then onto a local pub for a bit of a social.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.
It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.
If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.
When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.
Following the path by the stream
Autumn sunshine through the leaves
A pretty area of woodland
Gail soon finds some water and mud
High ground with good views
Don't think that's all mud!
Let's get out of that!
He didn't like it either
... or she?
Didn't stay around for us to find out
Great views again
Loughor Estuary and DVLA
Stop for Remembrance Day Two Minutes Silence
Off down the road a bit
Then up a green lane in sunshine
A little steep
But with terrific views
Reached the top
Into the autumnal Troserch Wood
Great autumn colours
Great if it rains!
Down the Ramblers Steps
Alongside the River Morlais
In full flow today
Out of the woods
Acrsss the Morlais bridge
Busy trunk road to cross next
Then back along quiet path
Old gate needs attention
Coming into a new(ish) estate over the path
At least we can get through
(if we can find the way!)
Thank goodness Gail had checked it out beforehand
Heading for the Loughor Estuary
No trains about!
Tranquil, beautiful area
Then it's back over the track to the start
