Swansea Ramblers Walk
NSPCC Charity Walk
Wales Coast Path
7th August 2013
Leader: Ian Botham
A group of Swansea Ramblers joined Ian Botham on a charity walk on the Wales Coast Path. We raised £105 for the NSPCC and enjoyed a walk in glorious sunshine.
Ian 'Beefy' Botham walked at a very fast 4.5 miles per hour, leaving us and most of the participants far behind in his wake. It became hotter and hotter then as we reached journey's end, the rain started to fall.
A shorter version of this walk can be seen on the Self-Guided Walks section of Swansea Ramblers' web site. Just click the Evening Post button above to see maps and details.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.

Beefy Botham is leading a charity walk for the NSPCC today
Yes! Beefy's leading a walk
OK! We've got it! He's leading a walk!
Better register then
Been there got the T-shirt
Yes! We know!
I think they know
Roger & Peter register for the walk
Who did you say was leading?
Oh Yes! Beefy
The intrepid Ramblers daring to keep up with Ian
But where is he?
Not here yet
No! I haven't seen him yet
Ah! There he is and on time
Not sure who's leading though?
Well Zetta's worked out who's leading
(has she shrunk?)
Off we go
Hot and sunny in Caswell
4.5 MPH eh!
I think he's somewhere up ahead?
Somewhere way in front
Leaving Caswell behind
Still all together
Why is he pushing a pram?
Beautiful day for a walk
Paul enjoying the walk
Beefy's starting to get away from us
Has he got any fish?
Langland and losing sight of Speedy - sorry Beefy
He's somewhere over there
No Beefy but we're enjoying ourselves
Too nice a day not to enjoy
View west to Oxwich
The marshalls said he's ten minutes ahead of us!
Need water on a hot day like today
But the storm clouds are gathering
We managed to get to the museum before the rain!
