Swansea Ramblers Walk
12th May 2013
Leader: Myra Lewis & Gail Allen
Gail and Myra took us throught the historic parkland of the National Trust Estate at Dynevor (Dinefwr). The bluebells were out and we had a magnificent swathe of blue under the trees.
Unfortunately it rained but that didn't dampen our spirits. We visited the old castle and sheltered in the dry to eat our lunch. Afterwards, we went to The White Horse in Llandeilo for refreshments and to socialise some more.
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?

Walking from the centre of Llandeilo
Colourful houses above the bridge
Joining the National Trust Riverside Path
Rain is threatening to return
Told you! - Here comes the rain!
We were dressed for the downpour so it didn't spoil our enjoyment
Anyone spotted Dynevor Castle yet?
Start to see bluebells under the trees
Bluebells in amongst the garlic
Swan on a nest in the pond
Estate Reservoir and our tea stop
Still on the nature trail
Intrepid visitors not put off by a spot of rain
Has anyone seen that castle yet??
Well it's up here somewhere
Into the magnificent display of bluebells under the trees
So wet now that we need an underwater camera!
Eventually found the castle and sheltered from the rain
Soon we were off again into the rain
Back in Llandeilo again
... and dried off, socialising together in the pub, drinking coffee and beer
With a wet but fond memory for all those bluebells
that we left in Dinefwr Park
... until next year?
