20th March 2011
Leader: Karen Gibbs
Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.
Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.
Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
- Come with Swansea Ramblers!
If you'd like to try a Swansea walk then do come along and find out what the great outdoors is all about.
It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.
You'll be very welcome to join us for three free walks.
If you enjoy walking with us and want to come on even more of our walks, just become a member.
When you join us for a Swansea Walk, ask us about the other walks and social events we do.

Setting off from Edwinsford
Walking the hillside
... with views down the valley
... and a mansion that's seen better days
Following the River Cothi to Abergorlech
Plenty of water in the river
Tadpoles in a puddle
A bend in the river
The Black Lion pub is very choosy about its clientele
The bridge over the Cothi at Abergorlech
Crossed the bridge to walk on the other side of the river
The path to the river is uphill first!
Ferns and mosses indicate a damp environment
Picking our way over fallen trees in the pine forest
An atmospheric mossy green area
Back to the riverside for a while
Autumn leaves are still all around
Zetta examines the moss on the trunk of a dead tree
Uphill and away from the river
A stream flows into the Cothi
and a bridge takes us across it
High above the river and moving further away from it
A few stiles to cross
Disappearing over the horizon
Found a farm that keeps goats
Heading for the hill top
Still on a footpath to the moor
Someone doesn't like footpaths then?
Onto the high level access land
Still no leaves on these windswept trees
More hills in the distance
Stile is nailed to the tree trunk !
Heading for the hill above Talley
Talley is around that woodland and down in the valley
Descending to Talley
Still some way to descend
A bit more downhill and we'll be there !
Talley Abbey in the distance
Funny looking sheep !
Better not mess with it or it will send us al-packing (Sorry! - couldn't resist that!)
Had a good look around but now we've got to get back
Interesting sculptures on the way
A garden full of them!
Fine old trees line our way
Another Red Kite came to check us out
Last few yards back to the car
and back to Llandeilo for a well-earned drink
