Walk Description

Today's walk visits a hidden gem of Gower: An ancient woodland with bluebells in the Spring.

Leave the Dolphin Car Park by the gate to the church.
Turn left on the main church path to the road. On the opposite side is a footpath sign for a path between houses.
At the field head diagonally left to next stile then go diagonally across to the B4295 and turn left along the pavement for a quarter of a mile.
Cross the road near the red post box to ascend what looks like a private drive sign-posted 'Woodlands'.
Just before the house turn left along a track to a gate and information post. The Woodland Trust has been thinning out the trees so observe any warning signs.
Continue in a semi circle along the bluebell lined track through pines. At the T junction you can explore the older woodland to the right.
Retrace your steps to the junction and continue straight on (i.e. the left path as you first came to the T junction).
This returns to the edge of the wood near a gate. Turn right to retrace your steps to the road.
Half the distance back along the pavement there is another footpath sign to the right just off the pavement.
This descends next to a garden and pond into a field that can be a bit muddy.
At the bottom of the field turn left across the bridge and through the kissing gate.
Follow the track past the house onto the single-track Marsh Road. Turn left, watching for traffic.
Follow this lane back into Llanrhidian, taking in the idyllic image of the church as it comes into view.
