Swansea Ramblers Walk

Pontardawe
Cwm Du Glen
and the Glanrhyd Estate

11th January 2014

Leader: Mike Clarke

Mike took us on yet another exploration of the little known footpaths around the Pontardawe area.  We started with a fantastic walk along the Cwm Du Glen where the river has cut a deep gorge.  We then passed through the old Glanrhyd Estate where we found a swimming pool past its best!  We continued on around the hillside for great views in winter sunshine.  Crossing the old main road, we stopped for a tea break alongside the Tawe before finishing with a pleasant riverside walk into Pontardawe.  If you'd like to try a walk then do come along and find out what all this Swansea Walking in the great outdoors is all about.  It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you.  If you get the bug and want to walk or stroll regularly then you can also become a member.  Just ask us about the walks we do when you join us for a Swansea Walk.
