Description:

 

Enjoy an autumn walk with Alison from Langland with wonderful views across the Bristol Channel. 

 

The walk starts at Langland and heads along the coast path to Caswell.

 

We'll cross the beach at Caswell and continue west on the coast path to Brandy Cove.

 

From Brandy Cove, we'll take the track inland through woods up to Pyle Corner. 

 

There'll be a short section of walking along pavements through Bishopston before returning through the lovely woods (hopefully with autumn colour) of Bishop's Wood back to Langland.

Toilets:

  • Langland (On prom by Alma Road).
  • Caswell.
  • After walk in Brasserie.

Terrain:

  • Mostly well surfaced paths.
  • Bishops Wood likely to be muddy.
  • Some street walking.

Directions:

 

·       Head west towards Mumbles on the coast road, A4067.

·       Turn right at mini roundabout in Mumbles centre (by White Rose).

·       Ascend Newton Road to 2nd set of traffic lights.

·       Turn left and ascend Langland Road.

·       At right-hand bend, take 3rd left onto Langland Bay Road.

·       Descend road and follow as it narrows.

·       Take 2nd left into car parks.

·       Turn right into the westernmost car park.

Come and join Dave on a circular walk over to Pennard Castle and Pobbles Bay. 

 

We’ll return via Pennard Cliffs to the car park.

Terrain: The soft sand ascent from the beach onto the cliff path – not difficult but a little more effort!

·       From Swansea, head south on A4067, Oystermouth Road.

·       Turn right to ascend B4436, Mayals Road (after The Woodman Inn).

·       Follow B4436 through Kittle.

·       Continue straight on at junction where B4436 turns right.

·       Follow road through Southgate Village to roundabout.

·       Park in the cliff-top car park.

Description:

 

 

A pre-AGM walk with Rambler groups from the Glamorgan Area.

 

We will explore the canal and surrounding area, including the nature reserve boardwalk.

We’ll follow the Pant y Sais Nature Reserve boardwalk then join the Tennant Canal.

 

Heading north east on the canal towpath, we’ll enjoy this rural idyllic area before crossing an old canal bridge to pass under the M4 flyover.

 

Joining the B4290 for a short section, we’ll walk into the old village estate and follow a quiet lane which returns us to our starting point.
