Description:

 

This is a circular walk visiting 3 nature reserves managed by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales.

 

Starting from Southgate Car Park, we will walk on the coastal path to overlook Oxwich Marsh Nature Reserve.

 

We will return to 3 Cliffs Valley on the beach (tide permitting) and head inland to the Elizabeth and Rowe Harding Nature Reserve in Ilston via Green Cwm Woods.

 

We will then pass through Kilvrough Manor Reserve on our way back to Southgate Car Park.

 

Social after walk:

Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to the Southgate Club.

Description:

 

A steepish walk up through Graig y Pal Woods and around the top of Graig Ola Mountain.

Bring a flask for a tea/coffee stop en route.

 

We will have grand views of Swansea Valley and the surrounding hills.

 

Our return will be via footpaths & lanes past Cwm Cyrnach Uchaf Farm.

 

Stiles: One.

Toilets: At the pub afterwards.

Terrain: Mostly classed as ‘leisurely’ but will have a steep section.

Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to The Globe Inn.

·       Head north on A4067 to the Glais Roundabout.

·       Ascend right, into the Globe car park.

Mewslade, Rhosili,

Thurba Head and The Knave

A Figure of Eight Walk

Description:

 

A ‘Figure of Eight’ walk, taking in the dramatic cliff scenery and views of Rhosili at this end of Gower.

 

The morning 3.5-mile walk will head west towards Rhosili and Worm’s Head.

 

We then return to Mewslade by about 1 p.m. before continuing east for a further 3.5-mile afternoon walk.

 

We start by going over Thurba Head and follow the coast path to ‘The Knave’. 

 

Our return will be through inland fields to Mewslade.

 

Stiles: To be advised.

Toilets: At Rhosili.

Terrain: Undulating rugged coast path and farmland.

·       At Scurlage, turn right to join B4247.

·       Follow signs for Rhosili.

·       Before ascending again, turn diagonally left by buildings.

·       Follow sign for Mewslade Bay Car Park.

·       Park in field.
