Swansea Ramblers Walk
Fendrod to Liberty Stadium
An Evening Stroll
3rd September 2015
Leader: Colin Warlow
Colin took us on a pilgrimage to the statue of Ivor Allchurch outside Liberty Stadium. We set off from Fendrod Lake Car Park and had a pleasant walk around the lake then followed the River Fendrod to the Tawe. We headed along the cycle path to Liberty Stadium where we touched the boots of Ivor for luck then made our way back before it got dark! If you'd like to try a walk then do come along and find out what all this Swansea Walking in the great outdoors is all about. It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you. If you get the bug and want to walk or stroll regularly then you can also become a member. Just ask us about the walks and social events we do when you join us for a Swansea Walk.

Setting off around the lake
Over the Fendrod Bridge
Peaceful area around the lake
More members of the public came to see what it's like to walk with us
Nearly sunset already!
Country paths next to retail units of the Enterprise Park
Quiet cycle paths by the River Tawe
Starting to look like Autumn!
Between B&Q and Liberty Stadium
More peaceful way to reach the area!
Over the Tawe Bridge
There's the Premier League Stadium
On a pilgrimage!
To visit a famous footballer
And touch the boots of Ivor Allchurch!
Colin tells us about Ivor
Can't resist touching the boots!
Don't think Ivor noticed!
Off we start on the way back
Ah! Path temporarily closed for works!
Have to go back the way we came!
Which is pretty anyway!
