Swansea Ramblers Walk
Llanwrtyd Wells Beer Festival
(Boozers' day out!)
20th November 2010
Leader: Tim Gronow
If you'd like to try a walk then do come along and find out what all this Swansea Walking in the great outdoors is all about. It won't cost you anything to come along and see if walking is for you. If you get the bug and want to walk or stroll regularly then you can also become a member. Just ask us about the walks we do when you join us for a Swansea Walk.

Arriving by train at Llanwrtyd Wells
Cold weather and wet underfoot
Horses needed help to keep warm
We needed to wrap up as well
Sunken lane leads out onto more open landscape
Tim secures the gate
Not much shelter if it rains
Beautiful area to walk - and a pint later to finish!
Good job there was a bridge!
Getting more uneven underfoot
The ground won't stop us though
But maybe the water will!
No - Nothing stops us!
Terra firma at last
Views open out despite the cloudy conditions
A bit more road walking
Then it's back to the mud!
Drier on the higher ground
Good to get out of that bit
Into Coed Caeper Corn
Attractive woodland for lunch
Stop here for food
A bit more climbing but it's on a farm track
Lucky to avoid the rain
Everywhere is wet today but it doesn't bother us
Not too far now but it'll be dark soon
Another short climb
... and a catch up by the isolated house
Then it's up again and it's getting darker
Still some way to go
Roger had to put on his head torch for the last mile or so!
Back to the Belle Vue Hotel for dinner but Karen's got her eye on the real ale!
Then over to the Neuadd Arms for more real ale
Walter's birthday today
The Neuadd was crowded with people doing the walking and beer festival
We could only find space in the back room!
