Swansea Ramblers Walk

From Coast to Moor
(Llanrhidian Circular)

26th June 2010

Leader: Zetta Flew

Zetta led us from Llanrhidian along the Marsh Road in glorious sunshine.  Across the marsh, we could see Weobley Castle on the hillside.  Turning inland from the coast path, we ascended the path to Llanellan, from where we had stunning coastal views over the Loughor Estuary.  We saw lots of Orchids on Welshmoor and Damselflies at the pond.  We followed the Right of Way into Llethryd where there is a public access agreement to visit the woods.  Then we retraced our way and ascended Cil Ifor for more great panoramas.  A short descent brought us back to Llanrhidian where we finished th ewalk in the Dolphin Inn.

Swansea Ramblers offer a range of walks for most abilities.

Try an easy walk of 2-3 hours or our longer strenuous mountain walks for the experienced walker.

Maybe you'd like to explore walking for the first time with a friendly group of people?
